Alternative rockers to heat up the stage
Don’t miss The Color Blew at BenRock on May 6.
Bringing you a touch of alternative rock, The Color Blew will be giving an energetic performance at BenRock.
The foundation for The Color Blew was laid in 2013 after the members were introduced by a mutual friend.
A passionate musical collaboration was formed when Liaan Horton, from South African hard rock band, Blacklist Rock, teamed up with Armando Santos and Marius Cronje, both from fellow South African band Equils to interpret and create aural art based on songs written by Liaan.
This union proved to be so successful that the band decided to make the collaboration permanent.
In early 2014, The Color Blew started writing fresh alternative rock songs as a unit.
The band was officially ready to carve its name into the South African music scene.
The year 2015 saw The Color Blew playing shows in Gauteng, Mpumalanga, the Free State and the Eastern Cape, while writing and recording their debut material and trying to build a local and online fan base.
Early 2016 saw the band recruit lead guitarist Timothy James Lotter, formerly from the East Rand-based band Black Jacket.
Timothy brought his polished playing qualities to the unit and integrated seamlessly into the core vision of The Color Blew.
The band sticks to its fundamental rule of working hard in the studio and playing hard on stage, no matter what the occasion The Color Blew holds nothing back.
They like to think they play alternative rock but the band has many influences, predominantly with grunge and punk undertones.
They strive to create a unique sound which can only be described as The Color Blew.

BenRock is set to take place in Germiston on May 6 at The Beer Co and Runway Beach Bar, situated in Dakota Crescent, near Rand Airport.
