Three women were recently arrested by the Katlehong South police for the assault of a 60-year-old man.
The three women were charged with assault with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm, while another woman and man are still at large.
It is alleged that the accused assaulted the man in Ramokonopi West in Katlehong.
“It is reported that the suspects arrived at the victim’s house, entered and without a word began to beat the man with steel and wooden sticks.
“The victim was taken to hospital with head and body injuries,” said Capt Mega Ndobe, of the Ekurhuleni West cluster.
An investigation was opened, but the motive behind the assault is still unknown at this stage.
The women will appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
“Police are searching for the remaining two suspects,” said Ndobe.
