Youth desk celebrates successful year

The Primrose Crime Prevention Youth Desk celebrated a successful year with a fun-filled team building day.

The members of the Primrose Crime Prevention Youth Desk have had a busy 2016.

As the year draws to a close, the team recently celebrated the year and its accomplishments with a fun-filled team building day.

During the day certificates were handed to each member to commemorate the accomplishments of each member.

The chairman of the youth desk, Sinoyolo Thethi, thanked the community of Primrose for recognising the team’s hard work throughout the year.

“We are pleased to see that the community recognises what we are doing, the donations and assistance we received during the year bear testimony to their support,” he said.

“When we joined we believed we would only be helping the police, we never realised what an impact we would have on the community and it is wonderful.”

Heading into 2017, the youth desk has appealed to community members between the ages of 15 and 35 years old, with a passion for helping the community, to to join the team.

The group focuses on awareness campaigns, school searches and motivational performances (with themes dictated and/or determined by the school the group visits), as well as activities that showcase the talents and interests of the members and young people in the community.

Youth desk meetings are held every Monday evening, from 5.30pm to 6.30pm, at the Primrose Methodist Church, in Primula Street.
