Humble staff member acknowledged

Ekurhuleni West College, Germiston Campus staff showed their appreciation for one of their colleagues.

Alex Tebbutt is a remarkable man who exudes humility and willpower, and this has been acknowledged by his colleagues at the Ekurhuleni West College, Germiston Campus.

The common sentiment of the staff is that Tebbutt, who is a maintenance worker at the college, always goes about doing his duties with a smile and is passionate about his job.

“Tebbutt is always willing to assist as part of his maintenance duties and, in most cases, goes out of his way to assist students and staff, even with personal problems,” said senior lecturer in the electrical and mechatronics department, Evan Jacobs.

Speaking of Tebbutt’s humility, Jacobs added: “He has a karate dojo, Tebbutt’s Mixed Martial Arts Academy, which is doing exceptionally well, but most people don’t know about it, because he is not boastful.

“His club members have achieved greatness, including obtaining Protea colours.”

As part of their salute to him, the staff had a photo of one of Tebbutt’s club’s achievements enlarged and framed.

“We want him to know that his great work doesn’t go unnoticed, and we congratulate him on the success of his club,” said Jacobs.

“He is important to the staff and students.”
