Shock assault case postponed

Case postponed, allowing police more time to investigate.

Wendy van Schalkwyk and her alleged attacker (GCN, October 7) reappeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, on October 6.

The two women are facing charges of crimen injuria and assault, respectively, after an incident in Cash Crusaders, in Shamrock Road, on Wednesday, September 7.

Van Schalkwyk claimed that she was attacked without provocation, while her alleged attacker claimed that she reacted after being called the “K” word.

“The case has once again been postponed for further investigation,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The women will appear in court again on October 25.
