Weekend operations lead to arrests

From September 30 to October 2, Katlehong South police arrested 27 suspects.

Through several operations held from September 30 to October 2 the Katlehong South police arrested 27 suspects.

The operations, which were held throughout Katlehong South, were organised by the Katlehong Crime Prevention Unit, with the assistance of the EMPD.

The accused were arrested on several different charges.

Charges included, malicious damage to property, assault with the intent to inflict grievous bodily harm, rape, driving under the influence of alcohol and the possession of dagga.

The EMPD also issued a number of traffic fines to motorists for disobeying the rules of the road.

All the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
