Angry community torches fire engine: https://bit.ly/2c4yQbp

While trying to respond to a life-threatening emergency in Katlehong, recently, a fire engine was torched by members of the Katlehong community. The incident took place at about 5am, in Moleleki Section. “An Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) fire crew was responding to a shack fire but, before they could arrive at the scene, they were confronted by members of the public who threw stones and rocks at the engine, breaking all the windows and forcing the crew to abandon the vehicle and literally run away for their lives,” said William Ntladi, district manager media liaison for DEMS.
