Firefighters from Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) responded swiftly to a house fire, recently. The fire, in Oak Avenue, Primrose, happened at about 12.58pm and gutted the six-room home. “Upon the arrival of the firefighters, the occupant of the house, an elderly woman, was standing astonished outside the gate watching her house and its contents going up in flames,” said William Ntladi, district manager media liaison for DEMS

The SAPS in Primrose have asked the community to be on the lookout for several vehicles used in crimes in the area.

A shoot-out ensued recently, after eight suspects robbed a pharmacy and liquor store in Roodepoort, on the West Rand. The armed robbery took place at about 6.30pm, at the corner of Ouklip and CR Swart roads, the Roodepoort Record reported.

Ntombifuthi Mahlangu was reported missing by her mother, Portia, at the Germiston Police Station, on August 26. The child was last seen by her mother on August 16, at about 7.30am. The missing girl stays in Ramokonopi East, in Katlehong, and attends school in Katlehong.
