Twenty-two arrested in a week

The Primrose police shared their latest arrest statistics.

The Primrose police arrested 22 suspects between August 8 to 14; this is according to the latest arrest statistics released by the station.

The suspects were arrested for various crimes in the Primrose area.

Charges include possession of drugs, housebreaking and theft, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, possession of live ammunition, murder, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, dealing in liquor without a licence, driving under the influence of alcohol and malicious damage to property.

A number of illegal immigrants were also arrested in the area.

The Primrose SAPS station commander, Col Albertina Vesi, thanked everyone who contributed to these successes.

Most of the suspects have appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court and their cases have been postponed for various reasons, while others will appear in court soon.

The illegal immigrants will be sent to Lindela for deportation.
