Two women charged with assault

In two separate incidents in Primrose, women were nabbed on assault charges.

The Primrose SAPS recently arrested two women for separate incidents of assault.

The first incident took place at the Primrose police station.

The complainant told police how he had allegedly been robbed by two men who were with a woman while walking in Oak Avenue, Primrose East.

A while later he saw the group again in the same street and when they saw a Primrose SAPS patrol vehicle the suspects ran into some bushes nearby.

He gave chase and managed to apprehend the woman.

The woman was taken to the Primrose Police Station accompanied by the complainant and while in the client service centre, she grabbed the police stamp on the counter and threw it at the complainant.

The stamp hit the man on the hand and broke into pieces.

This was witnessed by police officers in the centre.

She was arrested and charged with common assault and malicious damage to state property.

The second incident happened in Richdale Street in Primrose.

This woman was arrested by members of the Primrose police recently for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The complainant alleged that she was at her shack when two of her friends arrived.

One of the women accused the complainant of gossiping about her and also asked her to pay back the money she owed her.

An argument ensued and the accused poured hot soft porridge over the complainant, which burnt her.

The matter was reported to the Primrose SAPS who traced the suspect and arrested her.

She was charged with assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

She has appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court and the case has been postponed for plea and trial.
