Man assaults woman over shoes

A woman recently opened a case of domestic violence against her boyfriend after he allegedly assaulted her.

After being paid for her temporary job, recently, a woman treated herself to a new pair of boots.

She claims that when she returned to her Marathon informal settlement home with the boots, her 34-year-old boyfriend became angry.

“They fought, during which, the victim claims, he hit her on the head with a brick and took the remaining money,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

Officers were able to trace the suspect, using the description given by the victim, and he was arrested.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court on domestic violence charges.

His case was postponed for plea and trial.
