Cachalia confident about elections

Ghaleb Cachalia, the Democratic Alliance (DA) mayoral candidate, lays out his strategies for his Battleground Ekurhuleni election campaign.

The Democratic Alliance (DA)’s mayoral candidate for Ekurhuleni, Ghaleb Cachalia, launched the Battleground Ekurhuleni phase of his election campaign at the Germiston Civic Centre, on July 27.

“When I embarked on this journey as the DA’s mayoral candidate for this great metro, I was excited and passionate about bringing meaningful change for all who live and work here,” he said.

“I am confident to say that the DA momentum in Ekurhuleni has never been stronger.

“As we enter the final stages of the election campaign, we are launching the last push towards victory.

“We have identified key battleground wards in each community which will be the scene of the fiercest competition.

“If these battleground wards come out in their numbers and they vote for change, Ekurhuleni will be fully in play between the DA and the African National Congress (ANC).

“We will be campaigning all out in these wards and their respective communities.

“From Daveyton to Duduza, Tsakane, Vosloorus and Tembisa, we will be intensifying our activities, ramping up our door-to-door campaigns, community meetings and street meetings.

“To the residents of Ekurhuleni: your vote can make a difference to the way our metro goes forward.”

Cachalia also promised interaction with the communities.

“No longer will residents have a mayor who is disconnected from the communities who form the backbone of Ekurhuleni,” he said.

“They will have a mayor who will deliver on his promises and will not only listen, but act.

“All we need is five years to deliver on our promises of better services and a corruption-free government that delivers on its promises and, if we don’t deliver, vote us out.”
