A 44-year-old man is currently recovering in hospital after he was shot and wounded by a relative.
The recent incident took place in Rondebult and it is believed that the shooting occurred after a misunderstanding between the two.
“The relative, who is the owner of the house, allegedly arrived in the early hours of the morning and knocked on the door.
“The man who stays in the house with his son and daughter, woke them up to welcome his relative who had travelled from the Eastern Cape,” said Sgt Phora Nkuna, communications officer for the Alberton SAPS.
“They talked about a number of issues with the house and the 44-year-old man then went to the bathroom.
“When he returned, his relative shot him in the chest.”
The shooter ran away after the incident and the Alberton SAPS are searching for him.
A case of attempted murder has been opened.
