Lighting the way

The students from the Dinky Dolly Nursery School, in Elsburg, lit up the streets with lanterns.

Friday’s chilly winter night air did little to dampen the spirits of the children from Dinky Dolly Nursery School, in Elsburg, taking part in the school’s Lantern Walk.

The children, parents, community members, local CPF and police met at the Elsburg Town Hall before walking down Voortrekker Road.

The community were encouraged to hand over donations of clothes and blankets to the children as they walked.

These donations form part of the GCN’s collection project running till the end of June.

The donations will be handed over to families in need.

The public is urged to donate clothes, blankets and non-perishable food which will be handed over to Germiston Child Welfare to assist those who have nothing.

The public can drop off donations at the GCN’s offices, at the corner of Main Road and Scorpia Street, in Fishers’ Hill.

All donations, no matter the size, will be greatly appreciated.
