Thirty-two suspects were arrested for various crimes in the Primrose area from May 9 to 15.
This is according to the latest arrest statistics from the Primrose police.
Suspects were arrested for the following:
- Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 1
- Common assault: 1
- Rape: 1
- Possession of stolen property: 4
- Warrant of arrest: 1
- Possession of drugs: 7
- Driving under the influence of alcohol: 1
- Drunk and disorderly conduct: 1
- Armed robbery: 1
- Theft: 2
- Shoplifting: 2
- Illegal immigrants: 10
The Primrose SAPS station commander, Lieut-Col Albertina Vesi, thanked everyone who contributed to the arrests.
Most of the suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
The illegal immigrants will be sent to Lindela for deportation.
