A 49-year-old man was recently arrested by the Germiston Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit.
He was apprehended in the Delport informal settlement, after he allegedly violated a protection order and raped his wife.
The victim explained to police that she was sleeping when she heard her shack door bang open.
“She realised it was her husband, against whom she has a protection order,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
“He told the victim he was hungry and began looking for food. When he didn’t find any, he went to her room where he forced himself on her.”
The man appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court on charges of rape and violating a protection order.
His case was postponed for a bail application.
