A number of suburbs are without power again

The metro says a faulty cable is the culprit for the power outage in a number of areas.

Residents in a number of Germiston suburbs have once again been left in the dark.

Metro technicians are currently carrying out repair work to a faulty cable and power is expected to be fully restored by 1pm this afternoon.

The metro is currently in the process of refurbishing and upgrading cables in an effort to strengthen and enhance the electrical network performance in the Germiston area.

The affected areas include:

  • Parkhill Gardens.
  • Tedstoneville.
  • Delville.
  • Parts of Elsburg.
  • Parts of Lambton.

The metro apologises for the inconvenience caused and urges residents to treat the electrical network as actively live at all times.
