ADT reaction officers were quick to respond to a housebreaking in Main Reef Road, Primrose, recently.
“Two of our reaction officers responded to an alarm activation on March 27, after two suspects allegedly gained access to a property in Primrose by forcing open the gate in the early hours of the morning.
“The accused managed to break the window and get through the burglar bars,” said general manager ADT inland region Theunis Kotze.
The team managed to apprehend one of the suspects and he was handed over to the Primrose SAPS.
Kotze congratulated the responding reaction officers.
“We’re pleased that the professional actions of the officers led to the arrest of the suspect,” he said.
Some security essentials from ADT to remember in order to try to avoid housebreakings:
- Ensure you arm your alarm not only when you leave your home/premises, but when you are at home.
- Windows should be secured with beams or strong burglar proofing and doors should be secured with security gates.
- Secure your perimeter at all times.
- Report anything suspicious to your security company or to the SAPS immediately.
