Filling station robbed

Local filling station robbed by five men, one armed with a sharp object.

The Primrose police recently arrested five men, aged between 18 and 32 years old.

The men were charged with business robbery, after allegedly robbing a local filling station in Rietfontein Road.

“The complainant alleged that she was in the shop when two men entered pretending to be customers.

“While trying to help the men, another three men entered the shop,” said the communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

One of the men allegedly threatened the shop attendant with a sharp object while the others removed cash from the tills and chocolates and cigarettes from the shelves, before disappearing.

“With the help of the CCTV footage Primrose Police Station detectives traced the suspects and they were arrested,” said Maome.

They will appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.
