Two nabbed for housebreaking

Two suspects, one a minor, were arrested in connection with a housebreaking and theft in Fishers’ Hill.

A Scorpia Road homeowner recently arrived home to discover the lock of his front door had been cut open and his home had been robbed.

He called the Primrose police to the scene, where they discovered a flat screen TV valued at R8 000 had been taken.

Officers began an investigation into the crime and two days later were able to arrest two suspects for the crime, one of whom was a minor.

The accused, aged 15 and 18, were charged with housebreaking and theft.

After their arrest they took police to the home of the man who had bought the stolen TV from them for R400.

The 29-year-old man was arrested for the possession of stolen property.

The minor has since been released into the custody of his parents, while the other two men have appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court where their cases were postponed for plea and trial.
