On January 14, EMER-G-MED’s RV4, M02 and A12, as well as other services responded to reports of a motorbike accident on the N12 East, near the Kraft Road off-ramp, in Germiston. On arrival paramedics found the biker to be in a critical condition.

2. SPCA refutes woman’s claims against them: https://bit.ly/1nrzqQz

The on-going drought affects everyone; this includes animals. This became apparent when an Elsburg resident recently discovered four goslings in her pool. The goslings became separated from their mother and had to be humanely euthanased by the Germiston SPCA.

3. School bell rings on new academic year: https://bit.ly/1NfyHXd

The city was abuzz as children across Germiston took their seats behind their desks and kick-started the new academic year, on Wednesday, January 13. Children were eager to start learning and staff ready to tackle the challenges that lie ahead.

4. Manhunt launched for alleged hijackers: https://bit.ly/1ZAvZTm

Members of the Elsburg SAPS are hunting for two alleged hijackers. The search was launched after a 41-year-old man was attacked and hijacked by two men, at 10am, near the Rondebult Spar on the R554.

5. Taxi rolls on highway leaving 16 hurt: https://bit.ly/1Ni1WJ0

Sixteen people sustained moderate injuries after the taxi they were travelling in overturned on the N3 highway near Germiston, on Tuesday morning, January 19.
