Bring in the New Year with a sokkie

Carnival City’s Big Top to be transformed for SuperSokkie.

Carnival City’s ample Big Top Arena is set to be transformed into the biggest “sokkie” dance floor Gauteng has ever seen this New Year.

Revelers ringing in 2016 at the grand scale SuperSokkie event will be invited to take to the floor and “sokkie” to the music of some of South Africa’s foremost Afrikaans stars.

Collaborating for the massive New Year’s Eve SuperSokkie at the Big Top Arena are Kurt Darren, Nicholis Louw, Gerhard Steyn and Brendan Peyper.

Kurt Darren will be taking to the stage at Carnival City to bring in the New Year on December 31.

“For the ultimate New Year’s Eve celebration, Afrikaans music lovers should not miss this historical event.

“With top Afrikaans performers and an expansive ‘sokkie’ dance floor, SuperSokkie promises to be a thigh slapping, sing a long start to 2016,” said Matthew Cook, the entertainment and events manager at Carnival City.
