Water leaks for days in Delville

Residents question metro’s turnaround time for the repair of water leaks in the metro.

A water leak in Porfad Crescent, in Delville, was reportedly left to leak for 15 days, despite calls to the metro.

The leak, in front of a local business, was reported to the metro by the business owner, who wished to remain anonymous.

He claimed that workers from the metro arrived on site but never carried out any work on the leak.

The GCN sent a query to the metro to find out what had caused the leak, when repairs would be completed, as well as why the workers from the metro did not do any work when they were on site and, finally, why the leak had been left so long with the current water restrictions and drought?

“Upon receipt of this complaint a maintenance team was dispatched,” said metro spokesman Themba Gadebe in response to the GCN’s query.

“The plumber who dealt with the complaints advised that the pipe was repaired.

“It is, therefore, confirmed that the water leak in Delville is resolved.”
