Murder accused badly assaulted by community

Two suspects have been arrested for the murder of two women and a seven-month-old baby in Katlehong.

Katlehong SAPS have confirmed that two suspects, aged between 20 and 30, were arrested on Thursday after for the murder of two women and a seven-month-old baby in Silumaview section, Katlehong.

“It is alleged that the two suspects went to the house in Silumaview where they found two women, aged 19 and 22 and a seven-month-old baby,” said Capt Mega Ndobe, communications officer for the Katlehong SAPS.

“Without any words the suspects stabbed the women and the baby and dumped all three victims into a bath full of water.

“It is reported that the suspects attacked a fourth victim, who was coming into the house; she was stabbed in the upper body.

“The motive of the attack is still unknown.”

Ndobe went on to explain how the community of Silumaview managed to corner the suspects before they could escape.

“When the police arrived the suspects had been badly assaulted by the community,” he said.

“The three victims were certified dead by paramedics, and the fourth taken to hospital for treatment.”

The two suspects will be charged with murder and attempted murder.

The Katlehong police continue their investigation.
