Warning: Severe thunderstorms, damaging winds and hail could be expected

Following another week of scorching temperatures, the South African Weather Service has issued a warning of severe thunderstorms with hail and strong damaging winds.

Residents are urged to take precautions when travelling and be sure their vehicles and animals have appropriate shelter.

At the moment forecaster are predicting a 60 per cent chance of thunderstorms for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Last week’s heatwave caused water shortages in parts of Gauteng seems to have come to an end, but the metro continues to implement water restrictions.
