Barnyard and Spur spoil students

Ithembelihle Lsen School's Grade Seven students had a blast at their farewell held at Emperors Palace.

Grade Seven students from Ithembelihle Lsen School were in for a treat whenas The Barnyard Theatre and Spur, at Emperors Palace, came on board to sponsor their farewell, recently.

“Ithembelihle has 288 students, mostly from disadvantaged communities, and events like these can only become true for them with the support of caring people like Elaine Best from Spur and Pieter Engelbrecht from The Barnyard,” said the school’s deputy principal, Tiensie Dry.

“The evening kicked off with the students enjoying a delicious burger meal at Spur, followed by a show at Barnyard Theatre.

“This was the students’ first live show experience and they enjoyed themselves.”

Dry added that The Barnyard Theatre and Spur, at Emperors Palace, were not the only sponsors of the night.

“Eddie Smith, chief executive officer of Trysome, also gave R1 000 towards the drinks and snacks to which the children treated themselves during the show.

“What an experience this was; this is definitely a farewell function they will never forget.”

The school’s head of department, Suzette Grobler and Dry, helped secure the sponsorship.

“From myself, Grobler and the staff members and students involved we say thank you to the sponsors for making the farewell the special and memorable event it was,” concluded Dry.
