Tip-off leads to Polly Street drug bust

Man found with two packets of drugs.

Members of the Germiston Flying Squad recently arrested a 29-year-old man for the possession of drugs, in Primrose.

The arrest was made in Polly Street, after officers received a tip-off from a member of the community.

“Officers travelled to the address given and found a man in the front yard of a house,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

They approached the man and requested to search him.

“During the search, two plastic packets containing a substance believed to drugs was found in the accused’s pockets,” said Maome.

The man was arrested and taken to the Primrose Police Station where he was formally charged.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
