Severe thunderstorm warning for Gauteng
Severe thunderstorms, damaging winds and large hail could be expected this evening says the South African Weather Service.
The South African Weather Service has released a warning of severe thunderstorms, as well as veld fire conditions.
It is reported that these extreme weather conditions are a result of the high temperatures the province has experienced over the last few days.
- Severe Thunderstorms:
Severe thunderstorms with the possibility of large hail and damaging winds and reduced visibility expected in some areas of Gauteng this evening.
- Veld Fire Conditions:
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in Gauteng.
Residents are urged to take precautions when travelling in wet weather by reducing their speed, keeping their lights on and maintaining a safe following distance.
Vehicles and animals should also have appropriate shelter during this time.
