After discovering that the lock on his garage had been broken open and the speakers in his car stolen, a Fishers’ Hill home owner went searching for his missing items.
“The complainant explained he went to a pawn shop in Shamrock Road, as he knows of stolen items sometimes being pawned there,” explained the communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.
After questioning staff at the shop the man discovered that the speaker had been pawned by his 24-year-old step-son.
“He then opened a case at the Primrose Police Station and gave officers a clear description of the accused which aided officers in tracing him,” Maome said.
The man was arrested on Tuesday, September 29, and charged with housebreaking and theft.
He will appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.
