A Makause informal settlement woman was recently beaten with a chain and left seriously injured.
The woman claims she was assaulted by her 22-year-old boyfriend who accused her of cheating on him.
“The victim explained to officers while opening a case at the Primrose Police Station that after the alleged assault her boyfriend forced her to accompany him to the house of man she was allegedly having an affair with,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
The accused and his younger brother forced their way into the home and broke a cupboard, radio and speaker system.
“The total damage was estimated at R5 000,” Maome said.
Using the description given by the victim, officers were able to trace the man.
He was arrested and charged with domestic violence and malicious damage to property.
He will remain in custody until his appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court.
