The killing of police must stop, says Germiston Cluster CPF

CPF takes a stand against police murders.

The community stood up in support of the police recently, by joining a successful “Stop Police Murders” campaign.

The event was held under the auspices of the Germiston Cluster CPF.

“The day was a huge success,” said Jean Ingram, vice-chairman of the Germiston CPF.

“Starting at Shoprite, in Leondale, with a procession of the SAPS, together with the Germiston Cluster CPF, the drive ended at Alberton City.”

The event was opened with a prayer by Chaplain Patrick de Wet.

Also in attendance were Chaplains Lynette de Wet and Gerta Coetzee Oosthuizen.

CPF members handed out over 15 000 flyers and awareness ribbons to members of the community, to show concern for the number of police members who have been killed on duty since January 2015.

“Those who serve and protect have become targets, and it must stop,” said Ingram.

The Germiston Cluster CPF extends its thanks to: Alberton City Shopping Centre; Woolworths Alberton City; Checkers Alberton City; Maxi’s Alberton City; Wimpy Alberton City; Game Alberton City; Theart Mey Ramabulana Inc Attorneys; Elsburg CPF and Din-Al-View CPF for making up the ribbons; the CPFs in the cluster, including Alberton, Bedfordview, Brackendowns, Germiston and Elsburg; E-track, Chubb Security, SOG Security, SW Security, CPS Security for their support and lastly, but certainly not least, the SAPS and EMPD.
