Ace Tennis Academy and the Ekurhueni Tennis School of Excellence (ETSOE) held a successful development tournament, at the Germiston Stadium, on August 30.
On an afternoon where more than 50 children from Brakpan, Boksburg, Germiston, Alberton and as far afield as Lenasia came to play, the enthusiasm was there for all to see.
For most of the youngsters it was the first tennis tournament in which they had participated.
The development tournament was run on the play-and-stay principle developed by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and embraced by TSA (Tennis South Africa).
The tournament was open to all juniors and will be held on a monthly basis.
The next event is scheduled for September 27.
