Dawnview High pupils pour out their hearts for Mandela Day

Children have a blast at Epworth Children's Village.

It was Christmas in July at the Epworth Children Village, in Lambton, on August 13.

“As our dedication to the 67 Minutes to honour Madiba, we, at Dawnview High School, put a lot of initiative into raising awareness of the plight of the less fortunate in our community,” said project coordinator Gladys Bibi-Ndiangang.

“Together, as a team, we prepared food parcels, clothing items and footwear for the little angels at the centre.

“We were warmly received by the staff at the village.

“My team was also privileged to be given a tour of the facilities, which helped us gain an insight to the daily running and management of the children’s village.

“As the project coordinator, I pledge to keep the Madiba spirit alive and I am looking forward to bigger initiatives in the future.”
