Police track down alleged business robbers

Alleged business robbers nabbed.

The Elsburg SAPS tracked down and arrested two alleged business robbers in the early hours of last Monday morning.

The complainant alleged that, last Sunday, at about 2.30am, he was asleep when a noise at the back of his Rondebult spaza shop awakened him.

He went to check and found a man inside the shop, which was locked.

“He asked the man what he was doing, when, suddenly, another man grabbed him by his neck and pushed him to the floor and told him to keep quiet,” said Const Daphney Phooko, communications officer for the Elsburg SAPS.

The robbers made off with cigarettes and groceries.

The following morning (Monday), at about 2.30am, police tracked down the suspects and arrested them.

They are due to appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court on a charge of business robbery.
