Resident furious with delay in repair

Maintenance backlog causes delay in repair – say metro.

The GCN has received a complaint from an outraged Jonny Sandt, who lives in First Street, Primrose.

Sandt explained that the water meter outside his home has been leaking for months and, despite numerous calls to the metro, is still leaking.

After numerous attempts to get comment from the metro the following response was received by the City News: “The leak will be attended to and fixed by Friday, August 21.

“A shortage of resources and backlog in maintenance has been the cause for the delay in repairs,” said spokesman for the metro Themba Gadebe.
