Come to the Ahgie-festival

School set to host big festival.

After the huge success of the Ahgie-festival, last year, and the community support, Afrikaanse Hoƫrskool Germiston will again be hosting a festival, this year.

There will be something to do for all ages.

The activities will take place on the schoolā€™s sport fields from 8am to 4pm.

Activities will accommodate children from nursery school age up to senior citizens.

Dinky Dolly Nursery School will keep the youngsters occupied with a programme of events, which will include bouncing balls, running with water in cups, Miss Butterfly and Mr Muscle (two age categories), three-legged races, cutting ribbons, sack races, etc.

Prizes will be given to participants.

Primary and high school pupils can take part in a Cross-Fit competition hosted by Gym Physique, other fun activities, a soccer competition and arm wrestling against the Arm Sports Maniacs.

Come and see how the serious ā€œboys/menā€ do their thing and win an opportunity to go and take part in the South African Arm Wrestling Championships, representing the Marco Rossi Classics.

Both males and females can compete.

A flea market with different food stalls, second-hand books and other interesting stalls will be available.

There will be a display of motor cars and motorcycles, a tea garden, a dog show by Paws, a dog show by Bidvest Protea Coin dogs, a show by a Volkspele group, a Renate School of Dancing show, an open stage where local people will perform, for example, Nadia Nolan (ex-scholar and TV Noot vir Noot finalist), Suzette, Anthea Badenhorst, Charlene Olivier and revue soloists.

The very popular House of Horrors (spookhuis) will also be an attraction, as well as the Tombola table and other games.

A jumping castle will be available for youngsters.

The local CPF and SAPS will also be present for people to join or get more information.

The SANDF will have an exhibition of weapons and vehicles which will also serve as a career opportunity event for pupils, and all high school students in the community are welcome to attend.

This was a very popular exhibition last year.

The community is invited to come along for a fun-filled day.

There is an entrance fee, as well as a fee to park your vehicle on the premises.
