Top soul musician to take to the stage at Carnival City

Internationally-acclaimed soul singer Musiq Soulchild will headline on the first night of the two-day Winter Jazz Festival.

The festival takes place on June 12 and 13 in the Big Top Arena at Carnival City.

The American hit-maker has a considerable fan base in South Africa where his songs have enjoyed airplay on radio.

His debut album, Aijuswanaseing (I Just Wanna Sing), sold over a million units in the US, and singles from his new album are now climbing the local charts.

Performing on the second night of the Winter Jazz Festival, June 13, is South African-born, Grammy Award winning artist Jonathon Butler.

Joining him for the special concert are American jazz singer Oleta Adams and jazz saxophonist Euge Groove.
