Casual Day campaign kicks off its activities

Support a worthy cause.

“South Africa’s foremost fundraiser for people with disabilities, Casual Day, raised R28-million countrywide, last year,” said Andrea Vinassa, Casual Day’s publicist.

Sponsored by the Edcon Group, Casual Day is owned and managed by the National Council for Persons with Physical Disabilities in South Africa.

The 2015 Casual Day campaign kicked off its activities with the arrival of the stickers from the printers.

“Schools, organisations and corporates will be able to put in their bulk orders for stickers now, and also put the date on their calendars,” said Vinassa.

“Casual Day is on September 4. The theme for 2015 is “Spring into Action”, so take your inspiration from the birds, bees, the skies of blue, the colours of the rainbow, the blossoms on the trees and the minty hue of new leaves.”

Vinassa also said the colour theme for 2015 is refreshing, zingy mint.

“This year we will be producing five different collector’s stickers, each with a different image,” she said.

“So you can wear a bouquet of stickers to celebrate your commitment to improving the world for people with disabilities.

“Collect five stickers at R10 each.

“Casual Day provides the country with the opportunity to show their solidarity with people with disabilities, at the same time enjoying team building and camaraderie with their fellow participants.”

“It gives South Africans the opportunity to be creative and have fun while contributing to the betterment of society. It is community spirit in action.”

The national beneficiaries of Casual Day, through their affiliates and branches all over South Africa, provide services to persons with disabilities.

“Casual Day is a way for the disability sector to speak with one voice about ushering in a society that values human rights, inclusion, diversity and universal access to education for all its citizens,” said Vinassa.
