Support Child Welfare this Tekkie Tax Day

Wear your tekkies for a good cause.

It’s that time of the year again when you can kick off your high heels, school shoes or boots and swap them for your comfy tekkies.

Justine Le Toit, Germiston’s Miss Teen Commonwealth Pageant’s Top 50 finalist (see GCN, April 10), has joined forces with the Germiston Child Welfare Society and chosen to support this worthy cause as her first charity project.

She is calling on all members of the public, companies and schools to order their Tekkie Tax stickers for a R10 donation, and to take part in this fun project.

The best part of Tekkie Tax Day, held on Friday, May 29, is that it is for a good cause.

All you have to do is choose the sector you want to support (you may choose more than one);

  •  Animals
  •  Basic Family Care
  •  Children
  •  Disability or
  •  Education

You can also get a pair of funky shoelaces called “tekkie tags”, giving you a chance to spice up your tekkies.

Stickers can be ordered from Germiston Child Welfare, by contacting Janene de Beer on 071 1302 863, or by emailing to barbarabouwer@germistonchildwelfare.org.za.
