Housebreaking suspect arrested

Community patroller alerts home owner about robbery.

Members of the Primrose police recently arrested a 26-year-old man on charges of housebreaking and theft.

The arrest was made when officers were called to a house in Limpopo Road, in Marlands, by the homeowner.

The man explained to officers that he was out when he received a call from a community patroller saying that a man had been found in his house.

He rushed home, where he found that members of the community patrol had apprehended a suspect.

Inside the house he discovered that a fridge, washing machine, stove and geyser, to the value of R250 000, had been taken.

The suspect was arrested and detained at the Primrose Police Station, pending his appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court.
