Five medals for Nippon Dojo

Nippon Dojo shines at tournament.

Members of the Nippon Dojo Shotokan Karate Club, in Dinwiddie, took part in the Traditional Karate Tournament, on March 7.

The competition was organised by the World Authority Traditional Karate–do Association, and was held at GBS Primary School, in Kibler Park.

Three of the club’s members walked away with medals.

  •  Henry Berry, a second dan black belt, received a silver medal in Kumite.
  • Nadia Calore, a senior purple belt, received a gold medal for Kata and a gold medal for Kumite.
  •  Connor Trollip, an orange belt, received a bronze medal for Kata and a bronze medal for Kumite.

Sensei Goran Stankovic was thrilled with his students’ performances and wished them every success in future competitions.
