Din-Al-View CPF takes a swing at crime

Making their area a safer place.

A number of Din-Al-View CPF members took a swipe against crime, last Sunday morning.

They went into action, chopping down the reeds at the Wits Rifles off-ramp to the N17 highway.

The chairman of the Din-Al-View CPF, Jean Ingram, said that for far too long motorists, using this off-ramp, have been attacked by smash-and-grabbers and it is becoming a real problem.

“They hide against the barriers, smash-and-grab motorists and then disappear into the reeds below,” Ingram said.

“As a first step, we intend cutting down all the reeds thus eliminating the hiding place.

“Next, we plan on approaching both the metro and the N17 toll company to switch on street lights at the intersection.”

The Din-Al-View CPF thanks its members and sponsors, especially Merv’s Hardware which sponsored slashers and pangas, and Alberton Hardware which sponsored protective gloves.

“Thanks also go to those who brought much-needed refreshments,” Ingram said.
