Man assaulted by girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend

Man assaults victim outside of police station.

The Primrose Police recently arrested a man and charged him with assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The arrest was made after the victim went to the Primrose Police Station to lay a formal charge against his attacker.

“The victim explained to officers that he had been at his girlfriend’s home when her ex-boyfriend arrived,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose Police.

“He started a fight with the victim, but the complainant avoided him.

“He (the complainant) left the home and came to the station.”

When the victim left the station the accused was waiting for him and started hitting him with stones and open hands.

Officers rushed outside and the man was arrested.

He appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court where the matter was postponed for plea and trial.
