Crime escalates during load shedding

Don’t become a victim of crime during load shedding.

The Primrose police are warning the community to be on high alert when they enter/leave their premises during load shedding.

Statistics have shown that 99 per cent of those who are hijacked are women who are entering/leaving their premises during load shedding.

“Therefore, as police, we are appealing to our community to be observant when they are entering/leaving their premises,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose SAPS.

“Ideally they should call someone at home to come and open or close the gates for them.

“They could even drive past their homes first, to observe the area before entering.”
