Students and teachers from St Catherine’s School teach children from the Epworth Children’s Home how to swim.
The students and teachers of St Catherine’s School recently put their heads and hearts together to help their local community.
Their latest outreach programme, which was themed “Each 1 Teach 1’, saw the school looking for worthy causes within their area.
The school went to Epworth Children’s Home where they shared some water safety tips and spent time teaching the children how to swim
The students and teachers then spent time with a number of other children’s homes in Lambton and Parkhill Gardens, teaching the children grade appropriate subjects
The school also collected food and clothing, which was distributed to various informal settlements in the area.
This project carried on throughout January and a new theme will be chosen for February.
