Still no sign of six-year-old Kagiso Mokwena

Katlehong police continue to search for missing six-year-old boy.

Police have released a photograph of Kagiso Mokwena, the six-year-old boy who went missing, in Katlehong, on Friday, January 9.

“At this stage, there are no developments and the police are continuing their investigations,” said Capt Augustinah Selepe, from the Gauteng Provincial Police.

The boy went missing at around midday after, it was alleged, an unknown woman called him by name in the park where he was playing with friends.

She offered to buy the children lollipops.

The woman gave the children money and then led Mokwena down the road.

He was last seen wearing brown trousers, a green golf shirt and purple sneakers with yellow laces.

Police are appealing to the public to contact the Katlehong police’s Const Abram Mathibela on 083 964 9866 or 076 356 4058, Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or their nearest police station, if they have any information about the little boy’s whereabouts.

You may remain anonymous.

The GCN will continue to follow up on this case and release more information as it becomes available.
