Const Makhubela secures a conviction

Const Mpho Makhubela congratulated on a job well done.

The management of the Primrose Police Station recently congratulated Const Mpho Makhubela on a job well done.

Makhubela was investigating a case of murder that happened on August 3, 2013, in the Marathon informal settlement.

A 27-year-old suspect was arrested for the crime and later appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court.

Kelvin Xaba was found guilty and sentenced to 12 years imprisonment, of which four years were suspended for five years, on condition that the accused is not again convicted of murder or culpable homicide during the period of suspension.

The accused was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.

“The station commander, Col Mduduzi Khuzwayo, and his management team thank Const Makhubela for his hard work,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

“It is through hard work and dedication that we can secure convictions.”
