Parents give up son wanted for murder

Runaway murder suspect handed over to police by his parents.

The Primrose police travelled to Polokwane, last Monday, to take custody of a murder suspect.

The murder took place in the Makause informal settlement, on September 21.

The police nabbed one of the men believed to be involved in the incident, but the second suspect, aged 22, fled the area.

The man who was arrested appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court on September 23 and then again on October 23.

The case was postponed to November 6.

The wanted suspect was tracked down after detectives found his cellphone number.

They called the number and spoke to the suspects’ parents, who live in Limpopo, and they promised to hand him over to the Polokwane police.

On October 27, his parents took him to the police station and the Primrose SAPS went to take custody of him.

He is currently being detained at the Primrose Police Station and is due to appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.

“We applaud the parents, who worked hand-in-hand with the police,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose SAPS.

“This is an indication that they do not tolerate crime.”
