The world renowned Eqstra Flying Lions took to the skies this past Sunday, as part of the 13th annual Rand Airshow. The airshow is held at Rand Airport each year and the team, comprising aerobatic stalwarts Scully Levin, Arnie Meneghelli, Stewart Lithgow and Ellis Levin, never fail to grab the crowd's attention with daring feats and magnificent aerial displays, in their four T6 Harvard aircraft.

This annual event draws in crowds from all over the East Rand.
This year was no different, despite the ominous cloud cover that dominated most of the day.
The crowd was treated to a day filled with thrills, daring feats and magnificent aerial displays.
With performances by the world renowned Eqstra Flying Lions, T28 Trojans, Yaks, a full refurbished Dakota, fighter jets, a P51 Mustang, RV 7 Homebuilt Aircraft Aerobatics, Sukhoi 29 solo aerobatics, a Solo Helicopter, the SAAF Silver Falcons, Pitts Specials S28 as well as a helicopter versus a plane race.
The day also offered a number of competitions and a charity fund-raiser, giving those in attendance a number of chances to win amazing prizes, while showing their support.

As one of the opening attractions, the Chipmunk Formation Team, in their de Havilland Canada DHC-1 Chipmunks, wowed the crowd at the Rand Airshow.
