Man nabbed for possession of unlicensed firearm

Primrose Police arrested a suspect for possession of an unlicensed firearm.

The Primrose Police recently arrested a suspect, aged 64, for possession of an unlicensed firearm.

“Our members were patrolling when they received a complaint of domestic violence in Almond Street,” said the communications officer of the Primrose SAPS, Sgt Styles Maome.

The police then investigated the matter and, upon their arrival at the scene, were informed that the suspect had a firearm.

The police searched the house and found a box containing 11 7.65 rounds, but the suspect was not at home.

When he arrived, he directed the police to his friend’s home, where they found his friend in possession of the firearm.

Police asked for the licence from the suspect, but he did not have one.

The suspect was arrested and detained at the Primrose SAPS, pending his appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court.
